Demographics

In 1865 Lenauheim had ca. 3200 inhabitants. In 1940 it had 2400, out of which 95% ethnic Germans. After the Second World War the proportion of Germans fell to 50%. In 1992, out of 1400 inhabitants there were 346 Germans, in 2006 only 59.

• Lenau Memorial House: The birthplace of Nikolaus Lenau hosts today the Nikolaus Lenau Memorial House. An ethnographic collection of puppets wearing traditional Banat Swabian costumes is also on display in the museum.
