Not long after this, Lee and his patrner buy an expensive and noisy fountain, getting themselves at odds with the whole neighborhood. They try to prevent Katherine
from becoming president by pushing Lynette
to go against her, but they fail. When Katherine arrives at their doorstep demanding they take down the fountain, they respond by revealing they know a part of her mystery. She quickly backs down. Bob and Lee have a civil ceremony in the fourth season finale episode, "Free

When it's revealed that Paul Young has been buying houses to set up a home for ex-convicts on the Lane, everyone is upset with Lee over selling him the properties. He and Bob are prepared to leave for a hotel when they're caught in a protest that turns into a riot with Juanita Solis hiding in the backseat. Their car is smashed as Lee has a bottle cracked over his head. Lynette helps rescue him, forgiving him for being pulled into Paul's schemes. As Lee was seen packing a gun, he is one of the suspects in Paul's shooting. Lee and Bob tell Gaby that, since there was a 2-year waiting period for adopting a baby they, adopted an older girl.

After a surprisingly peaceful night, Bob and Lee leave happy only to find homophobic graffiti on the Solis' garage door, angering them. Gaby punishes Juanita for the graffiti and promises they are not going anywhere.
