23 political parties participated in the elections. The voter participation was 89.9%, with 1,118,316 out of 1,243,956 eligible voters casting votes. This was the highest turnout in Latvian history. Out of 23 parties, 8 gathered 4% or more of votes and won seats in the parliament.
