History

Since its inception in 1953, when Rholan Larson and John Allen started the accounting firm, LarsonAllen has grown into a nationally recognized service provider. In 1957, Bob Weishair joined, forming Larson, Allen, Weishair & Co., LLP.
LarsonAllen installed its first computer system in 1977 and grew to 65 people by 1978. The firm more than doubled those numbers within the next 10 years.

In 1987, the headquarters and 165 employees moved to downtown Minneapolis.
By 1990, the firm expanded to locations in St. Cloud, Brainerd, and St. Paul, Minnesota, and throughout the 90s offices were opened in Austin, Minnesota (1993), St. Louis, Missouri (1995), Charlotte, North Carolina (1998), and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1999).

In the 2000s, LarsonAllen expanded into Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Massachusetts, Texas, Washington DC, and Wisconsin. In 2010, it added locations in Idaho and Washington.

LarsonAllen has been named a Best Place to Work in Charlotte , Minneapolis, Philadelphia , Phoenix , and St. Louis by local business journals. In 2009, the firm’s learning and development team was honored by the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD).
