In Germany, each national court whose personnel are not allied but rather from one or several of the sixteen landes of the Federal Republic of Germany is known through § 154 GVG as a Landesgericht. More precisely, in the plural these courts are usually designated as Gerichte der Länder. Their opposite is the Bundesgericht
