Purdue University is building a new baseball stadium ready for Big Ten play of the 2012 season called Alexander Field. The new stadium will be located at the southwest quadrant of Cherry Lane and McCormick Road west of the existing soccer complex. The university's Board of Trustees approved funding for the stadium's construction on February 4, 2011.
Alexander Field will have television quality lighting with a seating capacity of 1,500 which could be expanded. Lambert Field will be razed following the 2012 season.
