Mission statement

"Lakeview Academy is committed to excellence in the personal growth and academic development of the college-bound student through a partnership of school, family, and community."

Visual arts

Lakeview offers classes in sculpture and ceramics, computer graphics, painting, photography, graphic arts, mechanical drawing, art history, and internet web page design.

Performing arts

Lakeview's performing arts programs let students thrive through outlets of expression and creativity, offering theater classes as well as speech and debate.

The Lakeview Literary Team won the Class A State Championship on Saturday in Warner Robins. Under stiff competition from over 20 other schools statewide in our classification, our team won 1st and 2nd place in every event we entered. Our two individual state champions are Jarrod Beck in Dramatic Interpretation and Reid Atherton in Boy’s Solo. Earning 2nd place in the state were Sahara Calderhead in Girl’s Solo, Mac Sims in Extemporaneous Speaking and Walker Adams, Reid Atherton, Geoffrey Cole and Kyle Lewis in Boy’s Quartet. These wonderful and talented students worked months to prepare with their coaches and this hard work and effort paid off tremendously.

Since 2002, the Lakeview Literary Team has won 7 State Class A titles and 3 State Runner-Up titles. This certainly isn’t because it is easy or because there is not much competition. On the contrary, it is tremendously difficult to earn a State Championship in Literary. We are so proud of our students who continue to be successful and to carry on our winning tradition here at Lakeview.

Technology

Lakeview has integrated a broad spectrum of technology into all aspects of its curriculum. Students in the Lower and Middle schools receive technology classes and daily access to technology facilities, while students entering the Upper School are issued laptops. Available technology adds a heightened element of interactivity to the classroom, expanding the possibilities for expression, exploration, and real-world application.

Lakeview’s technology prowess was recently displayed at the Georgia State Technology Fair , a statewide competition with technology categories ranging from multimedia graphic design to programming challenge.

Athletics

Lakeview offers a range of athletic opportunities for students all the way from Lower School to Upper School. A participant in the Georgia High School Association, Lakeview offers interscholastic competition in soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, football, cross country, tennis, and cheerleading.
