on the family car that acts as a kind of Wellesian "Rosebud" motif. The difference here though is that they have never been there. The title is therefore the more sarcastic, as the setting is very different from Lake Tahoe itself. The film follows a teenage boy who has crashed his family car and his prolonged attempts to find a new engine part to fix it. Also, under the surface, his and his family's grief at his father's very recent death is shown.

Shots are brightly coloured and arranged post-card style with figures crossing the image from side to side in Eimbcke's unique style of photography.
