Her father died when she was three, and she was sent to boarding school at the age of six. She developed bulimia at 18 and says she first made herself sick Christmas Day 2000 remarking "...I felt a huge sense of relief afterwards." In a 2005 interview, she stated that her title has held her back in her modelling career. "When I first started, the bookers assumed I didn't need the cash, so wouldn't put me forward for the big money jobs. At the end of the day, just because I'm a Lady, it doesn't mean I'm rich." Her father died before setting up a trust fund for her as he had for her two older siblings.

Her participation in The Games inspired her to try a new career as a personal trainer.
