The school also has a rich history in football, with winning seven district 2 class A titles and nine Lackawanna League championships, in the past eleven years under Coach Jeff Wasilchak. Wasilchak has since left Lackawanna Trail to teach and Coach at Lakeland High School in the 08-09 school year along with his brother Scot and other assistant coaches.

Dress code

There has been significant debate over the School's dress code and, in May 2007, the School Board decided that students could wear clothing with logos bearing the name of a manufacturer or a Lackawanna Trail insignia and would be allowed to wear multi-colored or stripped shirts with collars, and well maintained solid colored pants, including jeans.

  • Paul Fearick Legendary Varsity baseball coach who won over 200 games, 5 district titles, and countless league titles. Fearick's last district championship came in 2006 after a 10 year hiatus from coaching. He passed away before the start of the 2007 season, and the captains of the baseball team proposed naming the varsity baseball field the Paul J. Fearick Memorial Field; however, the school board rejected the proposal, sparking great controversy among students, teachers, and the school district as a whole.
