. District 106 is composed of two schools: one elementary school and one middle school, each named for the district. The district elementary school, LaGrange Highlands Elementary School, focuses on students ranging from prekindergarten to grade five under direction of principal Brian Graber. District students in grades six through eight move onto LaGrange Highlands Middle School, which is headed by principal Mike Papierski. Dr. Robert Dyer is the superintendent of the district.

Highlands Elementary School is home to two clubs: a grade-exclusive computer club and a guitar club. Highlands Middle School is home to sixteen clubs, ranging from a What's The Buzz, a club that produces the school newspaper; to clubs specializing in art, science, and chess.
