in mid-season, he again went 3-4, with a lowered ERA of 3.92.
The start of the 2007 season found Pearson back with the Crawdads as a relief pitcher, where he 1-3 with a 3.43 ERA in 23 appearances before being promoted to the Lynchburg Hillcats
. For his performance with the Crawdads in 2007 Pearson was named to the South Atlantic League's all-star squad. In parts of three seasons with the Crawdads Pearson lost 17 games, at the time tying him with Robert Theodile for the team record. Joining the Hillcats in mid-season Pearson went 0-3 with a 3.89 ERA and two saves in 19 appearances. Pearson stated the 2008 season with the double-A Altoona Curve
, but struggled through five appearances with an ERA of 7.00 and was sent back to the Hillcats, where he saved four games but his ERA remained high. On June 25, 2008 he was traded to the Detroit Tigers
for relief pitcher Denny Bautista
. The Tigers assigned Pearson to the single-A Lakeland Flying Tigers. Said Pearson, "It absolutely was a surprise to me, but you know that when someone trades for you that they want you. I'm a little bit excited and a little bit nervous."
The Tigers released Pearson on October 20, 2008.
