'Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell' began to serve its subscribers as an foreign associate of Turkcell
Communication Services Inc. on August 3, 1999. They have managed to increase the number of subscribers throughout the years by offering various quality, mobile sound and data transferring services. In March 2009, Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell had reached 318 thousand subscribers. By continuing their investments and providing quality services, in March 2009 Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell had earned a total of 11 million TL for network and other fixed asset investments and 45 million TL for 2G
and 3G
license investments.
Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell has paid 290 million TL to the Telecommunication
Department for Telecom compensation, transmission Payments, temporary connections and other payments. "Hazine Payi" payments to the Revenue and Tax Office, VAT, ÖHİ's and the payments made to the Social Insurance Agency and National Reserve has reached over 245 million TL. Paid Capital totals 62 million TL. In short, since August 1999, Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell has contributed 667 million TL to the economy of Northern Cyprus.
A total of 5 million TL has been spent for sponsoring, donations and aid to public organizations.
Since its establishment, Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell has aimed to build on its foundations by keeping abreast of the newest technology in the mobile communication sector and providing it to their subscribers as it continues to develop, enabling subscribers to have more relaxing lives by saving them time and helping them reach information quickly.
Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell subscribers will be able to use 3G
(3rd Generation) technology by the November 2008. As the changes in the technology sector and rapid data transfer technology come about, such services as 3G

, GPRS, WAP
,TURLA, Mobile Internet via the phone can be offered to subscribers as self-contained individual packages.
