History

Kusa developed from former manor with few houses into village in 1970-ties thanks to organisation PMK-19. PMK-19 (LV: Pārvietojamā Mehanizatoru Kolonna) was draining marches and improving quality of fields of local Soviet farming organisations - colhos. There have been built 3-4 stock houses, District heating

system and paved roads. Kusa has postal office (postal code LV-4847), primary school (Kusas Pamatskola) for ca 250 kids, small shops, hotel. There are saw mill, car-repair workshops and gas station in Kusa.
