Kurt Baker is a Rugby Union
player. He plays for Taranaki as a Fullback.
Baker transferred from the Manawatu Turbos to Taranaki for the 2010 ITM Cup previously known as The Air New Zealand Cup.

Baker was suspended for eight weeks in 2009 after verbally abusing a match official. In dubious circumstances, Baker was not allowed to defend himself at the hearing, and the local Hawkes' Bay official's version of events were never questioned.
Kurt is also a New Zealand sevens international and played in his debut tournament back in the 2008/09 season. At the 2010 Hong Kong Rugby Sevens, he led the New Zealand team in scoring 4 tries in their semi-final win over Fiji and 2 tries in their Cup finals loss to Samoa. He was also the top individual try scorer and point scorer of the tournament.
