Demography

Jharkhand: east side; West Bengal: West Purulia, Bankura Malda, Nadia, and Western Midnapur districts; Orissa: Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Sundargarh districts; Assam: Darrang, Sonitpur, Golaghat, Jorhat districts.

It is spoken by approximately 600,000 Indians.

Script

Kurmali is written in Devnagri script though Chis is also suggested as its possible script. Quite a few items in Kurmali Chis alphabet resemble the Roman ones.

There are Pre-degree, Degree, and MA Courses in Kudmali available in several Colleges and Schools of Jharkhand.
