Kukuiaimakalani was Princess of Oahu or High Chiefess. She was sometimes referred to as Kukuimakalani.

She was born the daughter of Kualii, King of Oahu and Kauai; and to Kalanikahimakaialii. Her mother was a Pio chiefess, being the daughter of Kaulahea II, King of Maui and his sister bride Kalaniomaiheuila, Princess of Maui. Her brothers were Kapiohookalani

, and her sisters were Kaionuilanilalahai and Lonokahikini.

She married her brother Peleioholani, who later became the king of Oahu and Kauai. She had a daughter with him and this little girl, Kalanipoo-a-Peleioholani, was therefore a sacred Pio child in the Hawaiian system of heraldty. Her daughter married Kaiakea, a Molokai chief, and their son's Kekuelikenui was the grandfather of Abraham Fornander

's wife. Other of Kukuiaimakalani's grandchildren were Kaakaupalalaka, born about 1787 in Honolulu, Hawaii; Kuluehu, born about 1781 in Honolulu, Hawaii; and Kolikoli, born about 1779. Her descendants are among the last of the Kualiis.
