Kristian Elster was a Norwegian novelist, literary historian, theatre critic and biographer, the son of Kristian Elster d.e.. He made his literary début in 1907 with the story collection Fortællinger. His liteary breakthrough was the novel trilogy I lære, Landeveien and Mester, published from 1911...

. He made his literary début with the historical drama Eystein Meyla, which was staged in 1863. Among his novels are Tora Trondal from 1879, and Farlige folk from 1881.
