. He is presently a Minister for infrastructure and ports. He is an M.L.A from Nalgonda assembly constituency.

Career

Komtireddy won as a legislator from Nalgonda assembly constituency 3 times in 1999,2004 and 2009. He was a Minister for Information Technology in Y. S. Rajashekhara Reddy's government. He served as minister for ports.

He resigned for Telangana cause in 2010 and again in October 2011 to his ministry and MLA.
The Congress government which is believed to to be strongly against separate Telangana, didn't accept Venkat Reddy's resignation as an MLA, but accepted his resignation to minister-ship.

Komatireddy Venkat Reddy launched his fast unto death for Telangana state in Nalgonda from November 1, which entered 8th day as of November 8th, 2011. But the Congress government, both center and state still seems to be not bothered about a decision on Telangana.
