Kjelvik is a small fishing village in Nordkapp
municipality, Norway
. It is located on Magerøya
at approx. 71°0′0"N 26°7′0"E a few miles east of Honningsvåg
and near the estuary of the Porsangerfjord.
Kjelvik was the original name of Nordkapp municipality
. However, the village was totally destroyed by German forces
in 1944, never recovering. As a consequence of this the name of the municipality was changed to Nordkapp in 1950.
