Origins

The station grew out of aspirant community licensee Kiss 90 fm
Kiss 90 FM
Kiss 90 was an aspirant dance radio station based in Melbourne, Australia.Kiss was the first 100% dance format radio station in Melbourne. The station broadcast sporadically to the Greater Melbourne area between 1994 and 2001 on 89.9 FM....

, which lost out for a full-time license in 2001, and Sydney and Brisbane narrowcaster Rhythm FM.

and relaunched as Kiss FM in 2005 as a narrowcast radio service.

Transmitters

Kiss FM currently has active transmitters at Balwyn, Chadstone, Epping, Flemington, Frankston, Geelong, Kangaroo Ground, Laverton , Melbourne City, Mornington & Olinda and a relay service on Orbit FM's transmitters in Daylesford, Mount Buller, Wangaratta & Cairns.

The frequency ranges are 87.6 87.7 87.9 and 88.0 FM in melbourne

Kiss FM annually hosts a dance party on Australia Day, 26th January. at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl (melbourne) called Kiss My Grass. All radio hosts are invited to play a 45 minute set to an audience exceeding 10,000.

Kiss FM bears host to many DJs and producers. The station is managed by Timmy Byrne.

Kiss FM is also the home of duo TRANCEGRESSION.
Playing anything from vocal hard tance though to bangin hardstyle.
