Geography
Kinwat is located at 19.63°N 78.2°E. It has an average elevation of 314 metres (1030 feet). The river Penganga flows aside the town. Nagzari dam is situated just few kilometers away from the town which is one of the important water source to residents nearby in the summer. Drinking water is fetched from the deep ground levels by new colonies which may be the cause for sunken water table.The Most popular residential area is SVM colony.The city has large scale farms on Kinwat-Mandwa-Nagzari road. Kinwat is a railway station on Mudkhed-Adilabad Meter Gauge Section of then Hyderabad(HYB) Division of South Central Railway(SCR). After Divisional adjustments in 2003, which saw the bifurcation of Hyderabad Division, Kinwat now comes under Nanded(NED) Division of SCR. The Mudkhed-Adilabad Meter Gauge Section has since been converted into Broad Gauge.
