Not to be confused with sikhSheikh — also spelled Sheik or Shaikh, or transliterated as Shaykh — is an honorific in the Arabic language that literally means "elder" and carries the meaning "leader and/or governor"...

 Khalid bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani is a close member of the Royal House of Thani. He is the sixth son of the current Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and the first child of the Emir with his third wife, Sheikha Noora bint Khalid Al-Thani.

Marriage and children

He married at Al-Wajbah Palace, Doha, on 18 December 2008, with Sheikha Maryam bint Nasser Al-Ahmad Al-Thani, the daughter of Shaikh Nasser bin Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Thani. Together they have two daughters:

• Sheikha Noora bint Khalid bin Hamad Al-Thani (born September 2009)
• Sheikha Moza bint Khalid bin Hamad Al-Thani (born September 2010)
