Early life

Ketaki's childhood was spent in the most remote parts of India as her father served in the Indian Army. A collective of different experiences from across the country with such a diverse culture sets her apart from anything local. She completed her undergraduate degree in commercial art from the Directorate of Art, Bombay's G.D. Art program. During her undergraduate degree she studied photography from Fergusson College, Pune. She then moved to the UK and studied Creative Writing from SouthShields and lived there for a year. She then moved back to India and got a Masters in Fine Arts from S.N.D.T. Women’s University, Pune and worked in the field of advertising and event management. She has shown her work in art galleries in Pune, Mumbai and also internationally.
She has been experimenting in different mediums like oils, acrylics, charcoal and has recently worked with glass, ceramic, tar and video art. Experimenting with different mediums and genres is her forte.

Career

Ketaki Pimpalkhare started painting and showing her work from 1999.She started with oils on canvas in a figurative style called 'abstract realism', a term she chose to use for her work as it did not fit into any particular genre namely abstract, modern or realistic. Her work was auctioned by a highly acclaimed international auction house very early in her career and the proceeds were all for charity. She has associated with various N.G.O.s in raising funds through her art for education of the underprivleged children in India. She also teaches art to the physically impaired children as a volunteer. Her work speaks of her personal journey and is influenced by events in her personal life which she chooses to express through her art.

 and is married to Shekhar Pimpalkhare. She was instrumental in setting up two restaurants along with her husband and has a 7 year old son.
