The Keta Sandlanders are a football club from Ghana's Division 2.

Biography

They have an ownership model that seeks to introduce African football to the international community and allows fans from all over the world to have a say in the running of the club. The Keta Sandlanders also support local community development programmes and endeavour to use football as a medium to promote the area as a whole.

which has a footballing pedigree going back to the 1950s. Coastal erosion has damaged the town significantly but a recent defence scheme has steadied the shoreline and the club hope to be a symbol of the renaissance of the town.

This season the club will head into Division 2 competition with hopes of promotion to Ghana's Division 1 (a step below the Premiership) and highlights of each game they will play will be broadcast on the club website. Ghana's Premiership contains teams such as current Champions Asante Kotoko and their historical rivals Accra Hearts of Oak and the league has in recent years produced players of the calibre of Michael Essien of Chelsea and Sulley Muntari of Inter Milan. The local leagues have developed during this time with the Premiership recently signing a significant deal with mobile phone provider Glo.
