Retirement

In December, 2009, Kenney announced through the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle and on the local talk radio show "Kick This" that he would be retiring from professional soccer to pursue a career in law enforcement.

Police Academy

In September, 2010 Kenney began his training in law enforcement with the Butler Tech Police Academy. He currently serves as the Class Lieutenant for BAS 10-087 as well as Student Honor Guard Section Commander. Incredibly motivated, Cadet Bertz leads the class in physical fitness as well as academically. Also, having a sense of humor, he enjoys the terms "Shut your Jib" and "scumbag".
