school. It was opened, in three stages, in 1977. It is equipped with a well-resourced library, and a large hall which is used for PE, Collective Workship and for Dining. There is also a purpose built ICT suite which can fit a whole class. There is a large, shared junior area containing computers, the library and art areas (including a kiln). Their on-site kitchen provides excellent meals for the children. St Mary's is fortunate to have a covered, heated swimming pool, in which all children receive weekly swimming lessons during the summer term. The KS1 playground has an adventure playground and a train which can be used by the children during playtimes and lunchtimes under supervision and a field for the children to play on. The KS2 children have a playground with zoned activity areas and a large field to play on. In September 2008 an adventure trail was added to the KS2 play areas, which was built using funds raised by a very successful PTFA. Their website is:http://www.st-marys-kelvedon.ik.org
