Kelley Barracks is a U.S. military installation in Stuttgart

Located ten miles southeast of Stuttgart, Kelley Barracks was built in 1938 and was known by the German Army as Hellenen Kaserne. Shortly after the end of World War II it was renamed in honor of Staff Sergeant Jonah E. Kelley, of Keyser, West Virginia
, 311th Infantry, 78th Infantry Division, who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor
for actions occurring at Kesternich

In 1951, Kelley Barracks became the home of Headquarters VII Corps and continued as corps headquarters until the unit deactivated in 1992.
Beginning in February 2007, Kelley Barracks was designated to house the Transition Team of United States Africa Command
. It became the permanent headquarters for USAFRICOM when the command was activated on October 1, 2008.
