This village Hindus, Muslims and Christians are the religious peoples. Hindus having Thurkaiamman, Mariamman, Kaliamman, Kandiamman, Kamatchi amman, Vakeeswarar, Perumal, Sambuvarayar, Karuppana samy, Papathiamman, Semmandi amman, Madurai Veeran sami of each temple. The unique nature of this god and goddess is there is no duplication of the god (i.e. only one temple for each). When the celebrations are coming all are celebrating with out any difference. The major communities are Samban, Pillai and Naidu. In Muslims, it is a holy place for Muslims. This village is called as SINNA MEKKA. One very big mosque (PALLI) is there. In Christians, an old cherch was demolished by nature. Now the peoples are constructing small church for prayer. All the people are related with Agriculture. About 1500 acres (6.1 km²) of wetlands available at the Shanmuga river basin. A tank Alangulam can hold a seasonal water for the agriculture. A higher secondary school, A middle school, A primary scholl and a girls school are also inbuilt in this village.
