, a fastest growing suburb in Asia sometime ago. One can connect to Paud Road via the Savarkar flyover. At Mayur Colony, Karve Road orients towards the south. It passes under Mumbai Pune Bypass Road after which it is called Warje Malwadi Road.

It runs for approximately 6.25 km.
It is one of the longest & busiest roads within the city, and the most polluted too. Pune's First Flyover, going towards Paud was constructed on this road, in 1998. A few of Pune's prestigious colleges and schools, such as the Abasaheb Garware College, Abhinav Vidyalaya, Prestigious SNDT College, and Dr. Kalmadi Shamrao High School, lie just off this road. Nal Stop and Karishma Society Chowk are some of its main junctions. It has the most number of Jewellery shops, after Laxmi Road. Some of the famous Jewellery shops are Ranka Jewellers, Ashtekar Jewellers, Rajmal-Lakhichand, Laagu-Bandhu, Vaman-Hari-Pethe, etc. It has many good hotels and restaurants like Chinese Oriental, Anand-Pure-Veg, Girija, Kimaya along with some of the brands like Pizza-hut, Cafe-Coffee-Day, Dominno's, Kahwa Cafe, McDonalds. Its Proximity to the Pune-city market area as well as the elite residential colonies like Prabhat Road, Dahanukar Colony and Kothrud, make this the busiest road of Pune.

One can see heavy traffic jams at peak hours between Deccan Corner and Paud Phata. After Savarkar flyover, the road becomes much wider to accommodate a huge number of vehicles.
It also has the maximum number of ice-cream shops, including brands like Baskin robins, Natural and Real Scoop.

Nearly all major financial institutions have their branches at Karve Road. Some of the nationalised banks include SBI, Bank of Maharashtra, Bank of Baroda, whereas Saraswat, Cosmos and Vidya Sahkari Banks as some of the private banks.

The Ayurved Rasashala is also situated at Karve Road, a few steps ahead of which, is the Pune-wide famous township Swapna Nagari, registered as Swapna-Samrajya Co.Op. Housing Society, one of the oldest and foundational buildings constructed by A.V.Bhat & Co. on 30th March'1972. Swapna-Nagari has the very old music store "Alurkar Music House", which is a real music hub for Puneites for quite a long time.

Many excellent hospitals like Sanjeevan, Sahyadri, Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital and Shashvat Hospital are situated around this road.
There is a Railway Museum located near Sangam Press, just off Karve Road, opened on 1st April 1998, known as "Joshi Museum for Miniature Railways". It has been a creative and famous museum, attracting many Children, along with adults, for quite some years.
Just nearby this museum are located various branded showrooms and eateries including the famous CadB/CadM shops. CadB, which is a very popular chocolate drink in metros, opened its first branch in this area.
