Hussain is currently portfolio-holder for Environment and Leisure, Chair of Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing Management Group and is the District Spokesperson for Kirklees on the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Authority.
The Mayoress, Mrs Nasreen Akhtar, is Hussain’s daughter-in-law.
