Kakarlamudi Brahmin (~600 BC), who lived on the banks of River Krishna, was one of the earliest lawmakers of south India. The Kakarlamudi Brahmins in Andhra Pradesh can be grouped into two major divisions formed about a thousand to about 700 years ago, most probably during the Kakatiya dynasty (1083 to 1323 AD).
