). After initial conflict between the two, Vicky recruits rowdy Murali into his gang. Murali becomes his most trusted member of the gang. He gets intimate with a girl, Anita (Madhavi
), who is looking for personl revenge against Anand.
But soon Vicky's activities time and again, get foiled by the police and he finds out that they have a mole in his gang. Kanmani spots the changed Murali with Anita and gets furious and breaks up with him. Then Murali reveals the truth to her. He wasn’t rejected by the police but was recruited by a senior officer to bring down Vicky and Anand's gang. He became a rowdy to get into the gang and is acting as a mole to bring the gang down. They patch up things but Vicky finds out the truth too.
Vicky kidnaps Kanmani when police arrives to arrest him and blackmails Murali to help him escape. After initially helping his escape, Murali rescues Kanmani and Vicky gets killed in blast.

Ambika shot to fame and #1 status with this movie. Before this movie, leading ladies of Tamil films were depicted as being shy and reserved and unable to take the lead in romantic relationships. Ambika breaks this stereotype in the movie, aggressively pursuing the reluctant hero with great panache & poise, in a manner that comes across as being very natural and effortless. The scenes where she flirts with the hero and her ease of delivering the teasing and suggestive dialogues titillated the audience in a profound way. Another important aspect of the movie that propelled her in fame and popularity was that in the movie, Ambika appears in one of the most lavish song sequences of the time, shot in a grand Egyptian setting. Fans were enthralled by a ravishing Ambika in revealing and figure hugging outfits, epitomizing a woman oozing beauty, sexuality and confidence. In the same movie, her appearance in the song "Vanile Thenila" is also well remembered, where clad in simple and elegant dresses, her breezy beauty shines in perfect sync with the melodious and catchy tune.
