. But, the station actually began life in the mid-1960s as easy-listening KCFM. However, in the late 1970s, KCFM went to an adult-contemporary format, and their call-letters would eventually be changed to KSD-FM in 1980, and the station until 1988 was known as "KS94 FM". The Classic rock
format was played by the station between 1988 and 1999, when KSD-FM briefly went into a hot-AC format dubbed "Mix 93.7." Then, KSD switched to a Country Music format in the fall of 2000, soon after 106.5 WKKX "Kix 106" dropped Country to become WSSM "Smooth Jazz 106.5" (The station at 106.5 became WARH
in April of 2005), as due to a big ownership shakeup in 2000, Bonneville Radio ended up owning both competing Country stations, thus opening up a spot for a competitor to longtime Country station WIL. KSD-FM began broadcasting NASCAR NEXTEL Cup races in 2005.
As of 11/12/2010 KSD "The Bull" has begun playing a solid block of classic Christmas music, and Christmas songs performed by current country singers. Although there is no official word from KSD, this could be the sign of a future format change after the first of the year.
