History

The station went on the air as KNTR on 1984-08-13. On 1998-10-22, the station changed its call sign to KCCF, on 2002-08-09 to the current KRPI. The station previously broadcasted a Christian music format.

In 2004, Radio Punjab accused rival Sher-E-Punjab of broadcasting on its AM 1550 frequency. Apna Sangeet became Radio Punjab International, formed by Sukhdev Singh Dhillon in 2001. After legal struggles, Sukhdev moved his studios to Edmonton, Alberta. Sher-E-Punjab took over Radio Punjab International.
