History
The station first started out with a middle of the road music format in 1974, then it was changed to a country station on January 7, 1980. They have been branded as "The Wolf" since July 24, 1998. The station signed on in the 1960s and changed to KPLX or "K-Plex 99.5" in 1979. Owners Standard Communications who also owned KBLX Berkeley California and KSLX Phoenix along with KFLX Flagstaff later sold to Susquehenna Dallas. KPLX has won numerous awards, including nods from the CMA, ACM, RAB Marconi Awards, Billboard/R&R and Radio Music Awards.With its parent company's acquisition of Citadel Broadcasting
