History

The station signed on in June 1947 as KOOL-AM. The station changed its call letters to KARZ in 1979, but reverted back to KOOL-AM in 1983. On 1996-10-07, it was changed to KPXQ, on 1999-10-14 to KCTK, and on 2002-09-01 to the current KKNT. The station adopted its current format in 2002; before that, it was the Christian instruction and talk station KPXQ
