The station went back on the air as KLAF on 1983-06-22 carrying a comedy
format. On 1986-04-15, the station changed its call sign to KOLC, airing contemporary hits again. On 1986-04-30 the station changed again to KMGR, and on 1997-07-11 to KWUN (a talk radio
format station) before going dark. (Call sign KWUN formerly was used for decades in Concord, California by an AM station at 1480 KHz.)
On 2001-11-01, the station returned to air, with the current KJQS calls.
