KGDP-FM and its sister station, KGDP AM 660 of Oildale, California

, were originally owned locally by a Christian group, People of Action, through licensee Radio Representatives, Inc. The FM station operated under the moniker Bread of Life 90.5 FM.

In August 2008, People of Action declared bankruptcy, leading to KGDP and KGDP-FM to cease all operations on August 31, 2008.

On September 14, 2009, Family Life Radio acquired KGDP-FM, and had since reactivated the station. KGDP AM would be sold to Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa, becoming KWVE.
