. KABX is owned and operated by Mapleton Communications LLC. KABX can be heard in a very large area from approximately Modesto, CA, to south of Fresno, CA. It sometimes can be heard as far north as the Eastern portions of the Bay Area.

KABX was previously an automated easy listening station with the callsign KMYT. KMYT was the original FM sister station to KYOS AM 1480. KABX was originally located at the KYOS-AM transmitter site, but was relocated to Shultz Mountain in Cathys Valley, CA in late 1999, and early 2000 to gain better signal coverage. This is incorrect-(Recently they have dropped 50's & early 60's oldies) and added 80's hits with such artists as Rick Springfield

KABX still plays 50's, 60's, 70's & 80's. On August 27, 2011 KABX adjusted its format and became mainstream AC "The New K 97.5- Favorites of Yesterday and Today. Under the guidance of AC consultant Gary Berkowitz, the station is using Jam jingles and voice overs from Jim Merkel.
