Junior Wantok Cup

The Junior Wantok Cup is the children's edition of the Wantok Cup
. Its inaugural edition was due to be hosted in Honiara
on September 21, 2008. The competition was to include a single match, involving football teams consisting in players aged under 14: one from the Solomon Islands
(host country) and one from Papua New Guinea
.
However, the official inaugural Junior Wantok Cup eventually took place in January 2010, hosted by Vanuatu
. All players were aged under 15. Five teams took part: a national team from the Solomon Islands; a national team from New Caledonia
, and three teams from the host country: "Vanuatu South Islands", "Vanuatu North Islands" and "Vanuatu Olympic". The Solomon Islands defeated Vanuatu South by four goals to one in the final.
