Professor Dame Julia Mary Goodfellow, DBE

She completed her undergraduate degree in physics at the University of Bristol
and completed a PhD in biophysics at the Open University Research Unit in Oxford. She began her career at Birkbeck College in 1995 as Professor of Biomolecular Science. .
In 1972 she married Peter Goodfellow
; they have one son and one daughter
In 2002 she was appointed CEO of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council
