Career

Azevedo started at the youth categories of Barreirense

, where he would play from 1930/31 to 1932/33. He played for the two seasons after at Luso Barreiro, before finally moving to Sporting Clube de Portugal, in 1935/36. He would represent Sporting until 1951/52, for decade and a half, winning several National Champion and the Cup of Portugal titles. After a season outside the field, Azevedo spent a final season at Oriental, in 1953/54.

He earned 19 caps for the Portuguese national team

In November 1946, in a game with Benfica, he broke an arm, but played the rest of the game after 22 minutes of the second half, with only the help of the other arm. Sporting would win 3-1.

After finishing his career he worked as a taxi driver. He latter moved to London
