Josiah Collins

Josiah Collins was a Seattle Washington attorney, civil servant and politician who was Seattle Fire Commissioner and United States Senator. He was Seattle's Fire Chief at the time of the Great Seattle Fire
on June 6th, 1889. It was feared for some time but on the date it occurred he was out of town attending a regional conference of Fire Chiefs.
He was one of the cofounders of the first golf club in Seattle at Laurelhurst in 1895.
