Jorge Luis Pinto Afanador (born December 16, 1952 in San Gil, Santander
) is a Colombian

coach, and current manager of the Costa Rica national football team

After an unsuccessful attempt at Coaching Costa Rica in 2004-2005, Pinto returned to Colombia to coach a recently promoted team Corporación Nuevo Cúcuta Deportivo which he led to win their 1st championship in their history. Shortly afterward he was named the new Colombia national football team
coach. His job was highly criticized by the general public after very bad showings versus Uruguay and Chile in 2010 World Cup Qualifying matches as well as in the 2007 Copa America 2007. later, Jorge Luis Pinto took the Colombia national football team
to one of the best starts in FIFA World Cup Qualifying in Colombian history, obtaining 10 points out of a possible 16 points, sitting at 3rd place. However, to the lackluster performances, they ended in 7th place and failed to qualify to the FIFA World Cup 2010.
