Early career

Prior to working in television, Irwin worked for business transfer specialists Christie & Co becoming associate director within three years, before going on to work for Colliers International.

 started to broadcast Jonnie's latest show called Dream Lives for Sale , which will see him help people leave their UK lives behind and buy a business to run themselves abroad.

Other work

Over the past ten years Irwin has advised clients on a huge range of business and property from small high street gift shops to multi million pound corporate hotel packages. He still runs a bespoke property and business consultancy.

Irwin writes a regular column for A Place in the Sun magazine as well as a twice monthly column for Monarch Airlines

. He appears at A Place in the Sun Live giving presentations on his top tips for buying property abroad. Irwin also regularly hosts many seminars and corporate events.

Personal life

Irwin is the son of a property developer. He travels extensively around the world and is a keen sportsman regularly playing cricket, snowboarding, mountain biking and running. Jonnie currently lives with best friends Lynne and Bernie in Northamptonshire.

Jonnie is head of the Northamptonshire Morris Dancing Society.

He has a pet wasp called Colin.

Charity work

Irwin has supported a number of charity projects, including taking part in sporting events such as Stickeywicket's Charity Cricket Tournament for the Lord's Taverners to raise funds for a charity helping children with special needs take part in sporting events. Irwin has also supported the Spinal Injuries Association after himself suffering a back injury whilst playing rugby.
