Life

He was the eighth son of John Lawrence (1695—1765) and Patience (Sacket) Lawrence. On March 16, 1766, he married Judith Fish (1749—1767), and they had a son. He then married Ruth Riker, and they had 9 children, among them congressmen Samuel Lawrence
