In February 2007, authorities accused Babineaux of killing his girlfriend's pit bull
mix Kilo, who died from severe head trauma. However, on November 7, 2007, Babineaux was cleared of any wrongdoing by Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter as the actions were taken in self defense and in protection of Babineaux's four-year-old child (the dog had a history of unprovoked attacks), and thus the charges were dropped.
