in 1841 and commenced practice in Fayetteville. He served as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives
in 1847 and 1848. He served as general on the staff of Governor Isham G. Harris

Congress. After leaving politics he resumed the practice of law. He died in Fayetteville on October 3, 1911 and was interred in the Presbyterian Churchyard.
