John L. Nau, III is Chairman of the federal Advisory Council on Historic Preservation

Nau graduated from the University of Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1968. He and his wife Barbara reside in Houston. He was a fundraiser for John McCain in 2008. They have two daughters and one granddaughter.
